本词汇库是根据Five-Factor Model制成的，对于人格特质的描述分为五大向度，分别是神经质(Neuroticism)、外向性(Extraversion)、开放性(Openness)、友善性(agreeableness)及严谨性(Conscientiousness)。个人在各个向度上所表现出的行为倾向，使其成为依某向度衡鉴下的High scorer或Low scorer，然而所谓的高分者及低分者特性并不一定具有正面或负面的评价意义。另外要说明的是，心理学家虽然使用系统化的方法来建构人格理论，在「描述」人格之时却多采用日常生活常用的词汇，较少特别创造或使用术语(而实际上也无此必要)，故本次并未针对中文词汇下定义，请依其字面上的意义并配合其所在向度去理解即可。
